Cameron Rudd was born in Australia in 1973 and grew up in England. After studying at Byam Shaw School of Art in London and working for two artists, the painter moved to Berlin in 2001, where he was received very well and gained immediate success. The British painter always works in series, the two most dominant ones being his lake scenes and the night impressions of the german capital. In his water scenes, he depicts mostly still lives made from floaties, water balls etc. which he arranges with strings on the lakes of Berlin whereas in his night series, he gives us a glimpse of the darker side of amusement parks, the daily life of sex workers on Oranienburger Strasse, protests in the streets of Berlin etc. His spirited use of colour and juxtaposition of light and dark as well as strong complementary colours constantly generates an exaggeration of the inherently documentary content of the motifs. Cameron Rudd has already won many prizes for his work as an artist and has accepted commissions. 2014 Residency Vendsyssel Museum of Art, Denmark 2007 Boston Consulting Group, non-public competition for a marketing campaign.
