David Musser
Surreal Figurative Landscape with Milk and Cookies

1992

About the Item

Surrealist figurative composition by David Lee Musser (American, 1949-2013). Addressed to, titled, dated and signed “Still Life with Milk and Cookies' @ 1992 David Musser" on verso. Presented unframed with painted edges. A long-time resident of Temecula, David worked as a professional musician for many years before changing careers to commercial art. After graduation from San Diego State University with a degree in applied art, David spent the next twelve years as an illustrator, animator and art director in the motion picture/TV industry. In 1994, David opened his own gallery and pursued a career in fine art. After eight years, David closed the gallery and now makes his living as a teacher and demonstrator. David's watercolor workshops were extremely popular in the Temecula Valley area. David also taught watercolor, drawing, and pastel painting classes at UC Riverside. Primarily a watercolorist, David was also fluent in oil, acrylics, and pastel. A plein aire painter, David's work has won eighteen Best of Show or First Place Awards. His paintings transcend reality and capture the light and color of Southern California, particularly the rolling hills and spectacular vineyards of the Temecula Valley.
