About the Item

Erin Hammond is a contemporary abstract expressionist artist whose free-form paintings capture the essence of her inner, subjective realities. With a vibrant palette and dynamic markings, Hammond explores the interplay of color, form, and composition, resulting in original artworks that invite introspection and reflection. Each piece is a unique expression of the artist's creative vision and artistic process, making them highly sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts alike. This large original artwork by Hammond is a mixed-media painting on canvas, measuring 48 inches high and 72 inches wide. Employing a diverse range of materials, including acrylic paint and charcoal, Hammond creates a layered composition that is both visually striking and emotionally evocative. Signed by the artist on the front and painted around the edges to provide a seamless continuation of the main imagery, the painting is ready to be hung. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. This artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the Los Angeles art gallery representing her work, adding to its collectibility and value. Erin Hammond's work is characterized by her focus on the immediacy and rawness of her materials. With a style that alternates between rough, expressive mark-making and carefully considered, deliberate composition, her work is a testament to the process of creation itself. Through her layering of pencil, charcoal, oil, and acrylic, Hammond experiments with color, calligraphic elements, and shading, exploring the expressive potential of each medium. While her work often features the female form, she also creates expressive abstract paintings that are equally captivating. Her compositions are imbued with a sense of (im)perfection, highlighting the unfinished nature of the human experience and our ongoing journey toward completion. It is this unique combination of technical mastery and emotional depth that has made Hammond's work highly sought-after by collectors and curators alike. Erin Hammond's artistic journey is one of self-discovery, artistic liberation, and unbridled passion. Born into a creative household in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hamnond's artistic abilities flourished at a young age, leading her to pursue a bachelor's degree in Fine Art Painting, Sculpture, and Theatre from the University of Wisconsin. Hammond moved to Los Angeles in 2010. In 2013 she was a top-rated artist in the largest indie art competition in the US, and within weeks her art was being sold globally. Hammond's works have been exhibited at numerous art fairs and galleries worldwide. Her original artworks can be found in international private collections around the globe.
