Georges-Marie-Julien Girardot (French, 1856-1914) Les Vendages (The grape harvesters) Oil on canvas 24.1/2 X 41.1/8in. (including frame) Provenance : Girardot Family Collection Georges Girardot was trained by the artist Albert Maignan in Paris. He was a member of the Society Of French Painters from 1883 and principally showed genre scenes at the salon. He was awarded several medals for his works. The pictures shown here show a pre-delictation the artist had for scenes of village life.

Born in Lima in 1851, Albert Lynch studied art at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris and in the studios of the figure painters Gabriel Ferrier and Henri Lehmann and the landscape painter Jules Nšel. He exhibited at the Salon from 1890 and was awarded a third class medal in that year, a first class medal in 1892, and a gold medal in 1900 at the Exposition Universelle.
