About the Item
In this hooked rug tapestry, a quiet and inviting interior scene depicts a male figure in a black T-shirt napping, wrapped in an ivory blanket on a striped blue couch. Just as peaceful as the man, a small black dog snoozes on top of its owner. The color of the couch is offset by vibrant green walls and pink curtains around the windows. Signed, dated and titled on a cloth label on verso. Rug is hung from a wooden pole looped on the back as shown in images.
Mary Tooley Parker is a true fiber artist. Her hooked rug tapestries evoke people, places and objects that resonate deeply with the shared human experience.
