Beach Artist Wizard in red Abstract Figural Acrylic on Paper
Beach art Surf session abstracted scene of the artist under an umbrella with Surfboard by Ricardo de Silva (Brazilian, 20th Century). Watercolor in blue and red at the beach under and umbrella after de Kooning or Worhol. This piece is loose and fluid, yet shows the abstract expression of the artist.
Signed, date, and titled along the bottom right edge: "R. de Silva '93"

From a collection of Ricardo de Silva's work and memorabilia. Ricardo DeSilva was born in Brazil and grew up in Los Angeles. He was a gallery owner, first in Santa Barbara in the 1960's and 70's, then in San Jose in the 1980's. He was dedicated to promoting the work of talented upcoming artists, including Kogyo and Hasui Kiyochika, Robert Frame, Jim Stuckenberg, Alice Robertson Carr, Deborah Eve Alastra, Russell Kelly, and Diana Mark.
