The bustling atmosphere of the Irvine market and its popularity for tasty sandwiches makes for an interesting subject to paint. Painting at an early time before the lunch rush allowed me to capture the scene with fewer people in the way, giving a quieter environment to work in. The few figures I captured talking added a human element to the painting, making it more dynamic and relatable.
