About the Item

Alice Isabel Padday captures the sparkling atmospheric light of Venice contrasting with the iconic forms of San Giorgio Maggiore and Santa Maria della Salute in this oil painting of the Venetian Lagoon. She was born in Dagshai, Punjab, India where her father was a Colonel with the Royal Engineers. Paddy participated in major art exhibition throughout Great Britain from 1909 through 1925, including the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham; the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; the London Salon; the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, London; and the Society of Women Artists. The painting is in fine condition and measures 9 3/4" x 13 3/4".
