About the Item

"Red Anjou & Brass" by Blair Atherholt is a captivating original still life painting that celebrates the beauty of everyday objects through meticulous attention to detail and lighting. Set against a backdrop of deep black, the composition centers around a brass vase adorned with a Red Anjou pear, surrounded by several grapes. The brass vase gleams in the soft light that bathes the scene, casting gentle shadows and highlights across its surface. Nestled within the vase, the Red Anjou pear stands out with its rich red skin, offering a striking contrast to the metallic tones of the vase and the vibrant hues of the surrounding grapes. Each element of the still life is rendered with lifelike precision, from the intricate textures of the brass vase to the smooth, glossy surfaces of the fruits. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to the painting, drawing the viewer's eye to each carefully observed detail. Atherholt's mastery of color and form brings the composition to life, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty of these everyday objects in a new and captivating way. This original painting is framed, signed by the artist, and ready to be displayed, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to bring the elegance and sophistication of "Red Anjou & Brass" into their own spaces. It is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea, as well as online, where viewers can experience the exquisite detail and realism of Atherholt's still life composition from anywhere in the world. Artist Biology: Blair Atherholt's journey as an artist began long before he even considered it a career. From the earliest days of childhood, he found solace and joy in sketching, filling countless sketchbooks with drawings fueled by both imagination and keen observation. In 2011, Atherholt took a decisive step forward in his artistic pursuits by enrolling in the Schuler School of Fine Arts. Immersed in the study of techniques and disciplines of the Old Masters, he found inspiration in the life works of figures like Hans Schuler, Sr. and Jacques Maroger, whose dedication to excellence in visual art became the guiding light of the Schuler School's mission. Graduating from the rigorous four-year program in 2015, Atherholt emerged with a clear goal: to pursue a career as a fine artist. Now, at 31 years old, Atherholt's focus lies primarily on traditional still life painting. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary subject matter, he endeavours with each new painting to hone his mastery of the medium, one brushstroke at a time. Atherholt's talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed. His work has been featured in multiple national shows and international publications, including International Artist Magazine, where his demonstration article "Precision in Painting" graced the cover of issue #134. He has received numerous accolades and awards, including the Best Still Life Award in the 2021 NOAPS Best of America Exhibition and an Award of Excellence in the Oil Painters of America 2021 Salon. From the prestigious American Art Collector Editor’s Choice Award to the Realism Award of Excellence in the Oil Painters of America 28th National Juried Exhibition, Atherholt's achievements underscore his growing influence in the art world.
