About the Item
A fresh spring green meadow is dotted with blue bachelor buttons, buttercups and a profusion of prancing white daisies. An abundance of wildflowers in an array of pastels scatter across the field. This naturalistic oil painting evokes the gentleness of nature, the calming effect of a gaze at the butterflies hovering over the petals. A hummingbird darting among the blossoms or bumblebees buzzing about. The uneven low rock wall lines a path which takes us farther into the wild meadow for a closer look at the flowers and the wood beyond. Doctors often suggest that anxious patients take walks in nature to soothe their fraying nerves. Here is a painting that substitutes for that walk.
This serene painting by fine artist Carole Garland is a reminder to her of her youth visiting her cousins on a farm in Northern Wisconsin. They would ramble through the meadow exploring and looking for wild raspberries for homemade jam or wildflowers for the kitchen table. Garland brings a gentle brush and muted
Palette sprinkled with glowing colors to this calming work.
The 30"x40" Oil Painting on a Wood Panel is wired for easy hanging. The 2-inch deep natural wood sides can serve as a frame.
Workshops with fine art California landscape painters David Gallup, former vice-president of the California Art Club; Frank Serrano; Jeff Horn; Calvin Liang, and others grounded her in classical painting traditions at the same time encouraging experimentation. Carole Garland has shown in numerous Southern California venues and is in art collections throughout Southern California and the United States.

- Autumn Leaves IIBy Carole GarlandLocated in Palm Desert, CACreekside one can see the rocks, pebbles and leaves at the bottom of the stream or the viewer can observe the water's surface: floating bugs, bubbles, ripples and reflections, but it's difficult to catch the bottom and the surface simultaneously. However, the photographer or artist can capture the stream's surface and pebble strewn bottom at once. Carole Garland set this as her goal in this painting from her "Reflection" series.
