Artist Comments
I'm always fascinated by shadows; the absence of light. They make the light around them explode in color, which as an artist gets my creative juices flowing. This is a scene captured in the mountains of Virginia. People often ask is this impressionism? I don't label it. For me, it is merely how I translate the scene. It can be impressionism to some, expressionism to others. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.
About the Artist
Chris Wagner uses color to express his unique vision of the people and places around him. He currently lives in North Carolina and enjoys keeping up with artists from around the world through Facebook. In his work, he tries to focus on subjects that contrast lights and darks. He recently found inspiration in the way a strong back light created amazing shapes and shadows.
