In the artist's own words: "The painting process commences with seeking inspiration – wandering the streets of New York or London armed with my sketchbook and camera, in search of captivating light and compositions. Often rising before dawn, I aim to be on location for sunrise, when the sun's warm glow illuminates the edges of figures and vehicles, casting long, cool shadows. Subsequently, I bring forth these concepts and insights to my garden studio, where I translate sketches into finished paintings."

I’m often up before dawn so I can be in location for sunrise when there’s a strong contrast between the warmth of the sun, lighting up the edges of figures and cars, and the long cool shadows. I then take all the ideas and information back to my garden studio where I work from the sketches to create the finished painting.”
