Eric Abrecht"Reserved Horizon XI" Contemporary Abstracted Landscape Oil on Panel Framed
About the Item
"Reserved Horizon XI" is a framed oil painting on panel by Eric Abrecht, depicting an abstracted coastal landscape. The artist's technique of painterly, rough brushstrokes gives this sunny setting a dreamlike quality.
This piece is finished in a silver scoop frame with taupe/natural woodgrain sides. Pricing includes the pictured frame. Unframed dimensions are 24 x 24 inches.
About the artist: Eric Abrecht lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two children. Abrecht completed his art training at The Maryland Institute, College of Art, in Baltimore, Maryland.
His work appears in galleries throughout the United States. He focuses on landscapes, figurative, and still-life, mainly with oil on canvas. At times he breaks from this medium to work on smaller pieces, usually acrylic and mixed media on paper. Abrecht works conceptually; drawing from lifetime experiences, and allows the subject of each painting to evolve as he works on the canvas.
“I start with more of a rough idea than a blueprint,” he says. Rather than title his work, Abrecht gives his pieces “generic” names. This allows viewers to apply their own feelings and experiences to each piece, without bias. “I want people to connect with my work in a way that is completely different from the person standing next to them.”
His pieces offer dreamy vistas into a landscape familiar to everyone who views his paintings. In using an impressionistic style, Abrecht is able to tell various stories through his broad brushstrokes and simple landscapes.

- The Orange Wall of San Miguel #2By Carole GarlandLocated in Palm Desert, CAA quiet street of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico is the subject of this painting by Carole Garland. An elderly woman cautiously makes her way along a narrow path using a tree to lend support. The orange wall provides much needed shade in the afternoon heat. Light seeps through the branches of a colorful bougainvillea patterning the orange bulwark. Artist Carole Garland who studied art in both San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City shares her appreciation of the simplicity of this quiet backstreet in a Mexican town. A special moment in time is brought to life. Garland uses the scumbling technique and a paint laden palette knife to achieve texture and depth in the leaves, the branches and the rough pavement of the street. This oil on wood panel is 16"x20" and its natural wood sides serve as a frame. The painting is wired for easy hanging. This is a stand-alone artwork but was conceived as a companion piece to Orange Wall of San Miguel #1. Together they are 16"x 40". Artist Carole Garland has appeared in numerous venues throughout Southern California, including several juried California Art Club exhibits and individual shows at TAG Gallery in Los Angeles. Her work has recently appeared at the West Los Angeles College Art Gallery; the Rose Cafe, Venice; Topanga Canyon Art...Category
