This painting is by Dutch Impressionist painter Erik van Elven.
This young artist likes to paint in the style of the Dutch Masters, but also has developed his own and unique style.
He likes to call it 'Impresiorealistic'. So, a combination of Impressionism and Realism.
Brushstrokes, fresh colors but also the sense of realism is something you can experience in all his paintings.
Erik van Elven paints all kinds of subjects, landscapes, still-life paintings, flowers, portraits, figurative works with landscape and people in it, landscapes, etc. .
In this still-life he really shows his scales! Flowers, glass and a bird. The strong composition and bright brushstrokes with bright use of strong reds makes this work a piece where you keep looking at.
