About the Item
Vibrant landscape by California artist Grace Sidwell (American, 1920-2013). Bright blue, red and white flowers carpet the foreground, with a dirt path cutting through the field. The path leads to a wooden gate and stone wall, which passes just behind a large oak tree. Beyond the wall, a green field gives way to an expansive valley with mountains in the distance. White and grey clouds hang above the valley, with some sunlight filtering through. She moved to San Diego in 1920, and was an artist all her life, she also taught acrylic painting to others. She painted landscapes and still life paintings.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Presented in a carved wood frame with a linen fillet.
