Il grande paesaggio è completamente dominato dal gioco di colore: diviso in due emicampi dati dal cielo e dalla terra (una landa montana ove spuntano sporadici abeti), vede prevalere sopra l'azzurro rosato del cielo, sotto l'azzurro verdastro della neve sul terreno, due sfumature della stessa gamma cromatica che si incontrano poi nello skyline delle montagne.
Cinotti fu un paesaggista esponente del Divisionismo italiano, la cui pittura è caratterizzata da una stesura materica e pastosa con tocchi di colore spatolato.
In cornice coeva.
