About the Item

A landscape depicting cattle stood in the shallow water of a river in the foreground. Sheep graze in a field in the middle distance. Presented in a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Signed to the lower-left corner. Inscribed with the title on the verso. We do not believe that this painting is by Henry Hillingford Parker (1858-1930) but unfortunately cannot find any further information about the artist. On canvas on stretchers.

    There are two areas of restoration to the canvas, one to the upper-left corner and the other to the centre of the right side. Inspection under UV light reveals some restoration to the paint layer in these areas. There is some stable craquelure and so.
