About the Item

Sunday Afternoon oil/canvas laid to panel image 9 x 12 January 2003 Live Oak Canyon Rod Born in Rovigno, D'Istria, Italy, 1944, John moved to California at the age of 11, where he went to college, and continues to live today. After several years as a commercial artist and freelance illustrator, John Budicin took the opportunity to pursue his dream of becoming a plein air artist when his employer moved out of state. John loves to paint directly from nature so he paints outdoors almost every day. John paints many of his paintings close to his home in San Bernardino, California. John is not only a dedicated painter but also spends several weeks each year teaching workshops all around the US. John also taught a workshop in Umbria and Tuscany, Italy. John has also written several articles for art publications. Source; the artists web site SELLERS STATEMENT I have been in the art business as an artist and dealer since the early 80's. Almost 40 years now. I primarily concentrate on my own art. My art is derived in a variety of ways. I'm a responder. I respond to light, color, design, etc. and I love painting both outdoors on location and in the studio under a controlled environment. I try to convey an idea, mood or just simply a beautiful setting. I'm inspired by a wide variety of subject matter and styles of painting and do not adhere to just one way. My paintings have won numerous awards over the years and have been collected both nationally and internationally. They can be found in three museum collections, the White House Collection and many private collections. I try to photograph each piece as close to the original as I can possibly make it in a general sense trying to convey the colors and light quality. Not all colors reproduce as accurately as others. If when you receive the painting and you feel it is significantly different then what the photos show, please let me know and we can try to work that out.

"Moving the Wild Ones" by Robert Hagan is an original oil on canvas and measures 60x216. In this large original painting by Robert Hagan, cowboys on horseback run through the canyon mountains kicking up dust and trying to reign in runaway mustangs and they travel through the blue water and canyons. The contemporary cowboys are in trench coats with their cowboy hats flying off into the sky while holding Mustang Australian-style bullwhips that are ready to strike. Translating scenes of everyday life into nostalgic and blissfully peaceful visions of the world, Robert Hagan has become a premier Western artist of our time.
