A picturesque lake scene in oil, showing a bank covered in ferns and several large silver birch trees growing close to the water. The other side of the lake boasts rolling hills and birds wheeling in the overcast sky above. Nesbitt shows affinity with the medium in the restrained execution of the hills and hazy distant sky. The artist has signed and dated to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a black waxed frame. On canvas.
