About the Item
With a contemporary perspective on landscape painting and inspired by paintings created by old masters, German artist Katharina Husslein paints in a representational manner to capture lively bouquets and saturated idyllic landscapes. Her passion for natural beauty is seen in her work as she transforms vistas familiar and rare into stunning interpretations of bold color, playful rhythms, and emotional impact.
Within her impressionist landscape paintings, her experiences abroad truly come to light. These textural and abstract paintings perfectly capture the vibrancy and movement included in a coastal sunset. This series differs from Husslein’s more controlled and smoother still life floral series which derives a more direct inspiration from art history and flower photography.
This large one-of-a-kind oil painting on canvas measures 35.5 inches high by 51 inches wide. It is signed by Husslein on the back. The painting is ready to hang and includes professional wiring for easy installation. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Born in Wertheim, Germany, Husslein grew up in a quaint village surrounded by luscious hills and flowing rivers. To grow her practice and widen her perspective, she left Germany to study art in London, UK. As part of her studies, she lived in Los Angeles, New York, and Australia. Now based in Munich, Germany, Husslein has exhibited her artworks across Europe, gaining collectors internationally. Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles has exhibited her original paintings since 2022.

Katharina Husslein
Even in her still lifes of inanimate objects, contemporary painter Katharina Husslein brings vivid life to the canvas. Vibrant colors weave and dance in representations of hopeful optimism and in bright moments of quiet solitude.
Inspired by the vital beauty of nature, Husslein seeks to highlight the importance of protecting what we have from the looming ravages of climate change. Though nature is her primary focus, poetry and history also inform her art, with spirited colors being an underlying thread.
Born in Wertheim, Germany, Husslein grew up in a small, traditional village surrounded by rolling hills and winding rivers. She would later draw on this upbringing in the Black Forest to create her captivating work.
She left Germany to study in London and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Westminster in 2014. To further her understanding of the art industry, markets and culture, Husslein took the time to live in other parts of the world, including Los Angeles, New York City and Australia.
Husslein had her first exhibition in 2015 at the Affordable Art Fair in London. She has since exhibited internationally, including in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United States.
She returned to Germany in 2019 and lives and works out of Munich.

Kathleen Keifer is a California-based internationally collected artist. Her paintings invite the viewer to consider the complex relationship between time and timelessness. It is the sheer visual interaction between the elements, taken in their bare simplicity that interests her. Water, sky, and architecture change their appearance with the shifts in weather and light. Her broken brushstrokes depict light and color in luminous waves, dissolving form into a shimmering surface of vibrant light. For her, painting captures the very essence of time and its passage. While painting landscapes she became fascinated with isolating the objects in her paintings. She believes that actual sites and places have individual magic. The goal is to take objects from popular culture and paint them in a new context. She began to paint the silhouette of the Life Guard Tower more as a pop art symbol than a landscape element. With a high level of technical virtuosity, Keifer creates a new sense of reality with textures and colors that seem to add lighting effects and distinct shadows, confronting the viewer with new interpretations of familiar objects.
