Nguyen Xuan Anh
Nguyen is an emerging artist who began his career paying homage to his father, who was considered one of the best lacquer on wood artists in Vietnam. Those initial pieces employ traditional subjects using a variety of earthy colors such as red, yellow and brown. As Nguyen’s artistic visions evolve, his more recent works depict the changing Vietnam as well as pastoral scenes of blossoms, trees and landscapes using ink on paper. He has an astounding ability to mix the traditional with the modern. Nguyen Xuan Anh was born in 1977 in Hanoi, Vietnam and graduated from the Industrial Fine Art College in 1999. He has exhibited extensively in the United States, Singapore, and China.

- "Obliteration" Oil and Alkyd Painting on Wood Panels, Yellow, Red, OrangeBy Grace Graupe-PillardLocated in New York, NYGrace Graupe-Pillard has concentrated on portraiture since her early charcoal drawings which she exhibited at The Drawing Center, NYC in 1981. Her work, which has been exhibited at notable institutions such as MOMA PS1 and galleries including Cheim & Read Gallery (NY) and Carl Hammer Gallery (Chicago), has evolved from over the years from pastels to large-scale oil paintings and installations of people who she describes as “having not been integrated into mainstream society.” Her more recent paintings, inspired by selfies and iPhone photographs, attempt to convey the vitality and diversity of 21st century contemporary culture while capturing the ineffable moments in our lives. “The sensuality and radiant beauty of youth and ethnic diversity are depicted in my choice of subjects, as well as the ravages of time which are imprinted on our being. All stages of life are filled with humanity that both elevates and dissipates the spirit.” Her work has been written about in The NY Times, Art News, The Village Voice, The Star-Ledger, Newsday, Flash Art...Category

- Golden City - 24k Gold and Mineral, Cityscape, Luxurious, Big Painting, GemstoneBy Maria MitsumoriLocated in Tokyo, JPThis large painting is Mitsumori's very first maiden work. An original mineral painting, made with 24k gold, crushed minerals (natural and synthetic), oyster shells and gold-coated mica on Japanese paper mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include precious and semi-precious stones. Because these substances consist of unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics and a story to tell, with a sense of connection to the earth. It is highly textured with a matt and rich sand-like appearance. What originally inspired her to paint was the cityscapes of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is a city in India known as the “golden city” that gleams in gold-like colors at sunset. The city shimmered like a piece of gold jewelry, reminding her of jewelry that retains its shine even after a thousand years. She felt a strong desire to capture them in paintings and set out to do so. Presents the sceneries seen through her eyes in an art form. In mint condition, Certificate of Authenticity included and calligraphy seal in front, hand-signed at the back. Sold unframed and ready to hang (eye bolt and string mounted at the back). Artist: Maria Mitsumori...Category
