Peter Adams
Pastoral Morning; Redding

2006

About the Item

Provenance Acquired directly from the Artist by the gallery Description While a guest on a private ranch in Redding, California artist Peter Adams took out his pastels on an early spring morning to capture this tranquil scene of grazing cattle, en plein air. The beauty and grand scale sense of nature is conveyed by the diminutive size of the cows. The beaming sun pour over the land and begins to warm the herd and prepare the pasture for fresh grazing. Adams’ ability to heighten a poetic mood is distinct in this pastel painting, "Pastoral Morning; Redding, California", whereby the entire scene is unified by a soft atmospheric light.
