Signed lower right, 'Canete', for Robert Canete (American, born 1956) and painted circa 2010; additionally signed, verso, 'Robert Canete' and titled 'Marin, Blue Hills' A substantial Post-Impressionist style oil landscape showing a view of old wooden farm-buildings at the edge of a lake nestled beneath the hills of this picturesque Northern California county. Gestural and intuitive brushwork combines with a vibrant palette in this elegant and lyrical work. This listed Carmel artist studied with Vincent Rascon in the 1960s, and, later, with Dwight Miller at Stanford.
