About the artist: A painter, educator and lithographer, Ruth Armer was born in San Francisco and spent her career in that city. She attended the California School of Fine Arts, 1914-1915, 1918-1919 and studied in New York at the Art Students League with George Bellows, Robert Henri, and John Sloan.
