About the Item

Dearest Light [2020] Original Landscape Oil and acrylic on canvas Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:30 cm x W:30 cm x D:5cm Frame Size: H:34 cm x W:34 cm x D:5cm Sold Framed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look A striking depiction of the powerful skies illuminating a chaotic landscape. Painted in oils and acrylics on deep edge canvas, framed in a contemporary float frame ready to hang. Sheryl is an award winning contemporary landscape artist. Dubbed “the Turner of the North”, Sheryl’s vision of tempestuous skies and chaotic landscapes has earned her international acclaim. Sheryl’s unique vision of the dramatic light penetrating the vast skies is recognisable as her distinctive style. Sheryl has been painting professionally since 1999 and divides her time between her studios in Leeds and Weardale, County Durham. Sheryl draws her inspiration from the windswept high moors of the North Pennines and aims to capture the communication between the skies and the landscape. “I paint mainly in oils - layering gradually with brushes and knives to build up vibrancy and depth to each piece. Despite using a very classical composition and traditional technique, I aim to capture a very contemporary feel.” Sheryl exhibits at various locations in the UK, as well as New York, Amsterdam, Paris and other international locations. Sheryl continues to undertake bespoke commissions and sell works to private collectors throughout the UK and further afield.
