An intriguing study of a country manor house with a bell tower. Chickens roam around the courtyard and a willow tree sits neatly against the garden walls. The upward view of the composition gives this study a slightly surreal feel and the slightly disconcerting clouds add to the uneasiness of the piece. Well presented in an ornate gilt effect frame. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.
