About the Item

A lush forest scene and lake with boaters and swimmers by Vadim Dolgov (Russian/Canadian, b. 1962). Signed and dated "V. Dolgov 1998" lower left. Displayed in a wood frame. Image, 30"H x 40.5"L. Vadim Dolgov is a Canadian artist born in Russia in 1962. He began drawing and painting as a child. In 1986 he graduated from Orenburg Academy of Art and Design, where, during a five year study, he studied classical drawing, painting and sculpture. He achieved first success when his painting was sold at the Drouot Hotel Auction House in Paris in 1991. In 1997 Vadim was invited to join the group of artists for an inspirational 40 days long plein air tour across India. The highlight of the journey was painting a portrait of a saint philosopher Sripad Baba commissioned by a Vraja Academy in a city of Vrindavan. The works painted during the trip and after were exhibited at The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. In 1998 he moved to Canada. Since then his paintings have been exhibited and sold throughout the world.
