A sunrise shimmering with pastel colors evokes the light of dawn. We can feel the movement of the clouds and the leaves as their shadows create flickering, dappled, patterns on the earth. This painting is an imaginary landscape inspired by Santorini and the trees of California. Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality. The vivid, saturated, jewel-like colors and strong compositional elements express the spiritual essence of nature. On gallery wrapped canvas.

Linda Jacobson
Linda Jacobson was born in Los Angeles and currently resides in Venice, CA. She studied and received degrees at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Otis College of Art and CSUN, Northridge. She was mentored by Lorser Feitelson and his wife Helen Lundeberg, Harry Carmean, and studied with Hans Burkhardt and Charles White. Jacobson's national and international exhibits include: Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Galerie Rohlilng, Berlin; MRG Fine Art; George Lawson Gallery, Culver City; Gallery K, Washington.DC; Karpeles Museum, Santa Barbara; Kathryn Markel, New York; Mt. St. Marys College, Los Angeles; Ruth Bachofner Gallery, Santa Monica; California State University, Los Angeles; Loyola University, Los Angeles; CSUCI, Camarillo, CA; Caldera Gallery, Greece; Gallery du Theatre, Geneva; and Galerie Marquet, Paris. She has taught at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena; UCLA Extension, and currently teaches at Otis College of Art. She leads art workshops nationally and internationally as well as private classes in Venice.
