About the Item
This painting is based upon a visit to a magical place in North England called Holy Island. It is an abstraction of a field of flowers on a windswept island which becomes surrounded by water every evening. It is painted in warm ochres, pink/reds and greens. This is an original painting.
My long-term involvement with mysticism, shamanism, meditation, dreamwork, Jungian Psychology and ritual, and my extensive international travels, are the source of my visionary images My paintings are metaphors for internal psychic and spiritual states of consciousness.
My paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by my connection to nature and its elements: form, movement, light, and what I perceive to be its essence – an energy that goes beyond visual appearance.
My work is a serpentine flow, embodying poetic and rhythmic gestures of sensuous swirling lines, undulating edges and forms that merge into each other in waves of color and light. Everything is alive. My paintings express the primordial energy that exists within nature.

- Autumn Leaves IIBy Carole GarlandLocated in Palm Desert, CACreekside one can see the rocks, pebbles and leaves at the bottom of the stream or the viewer can observe the water's surface: floating bugs, bubbles, ripples and reflections, but it's difficult to catch the bottom and the surface simultaneously. However, the photographer or artist can capture the stream's surface and pebble strewn bottom at once. Carole Garland set this as her goal in this painting from her "Reflection" series. Carole Garland graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Americas in Mexico City.
