About the Item
We got to know Erik van Elven years ago through Facebook, we were Facebook-friends way before we even wanted to open up a gallery. We shared a passion: modern realism. That sparked a nice contact between us. Erik developed quickly, while working and studying hard we got to witness him improve fast, and his work became more and more personal. When painting a portrait, Erik wants to touch the soul of the portrayed, and he can accomplish that without a doubt. In 2016, he won a Dutch plenair event called the ‘Haagse Schooldag’, an event with 30 contestants, and in 2017 he won the online public award of the Groene Hart Art Award.
