About the Item
Gardens of Resilience: Cultivating Hope
There is a literary saying: "For Ukrainians, the heart is in children, the soul is in songs, and life is in gardens."
The "Gardens of Resilience" series embodies the enduring will and determination to create life's oases, even in the darkest times. Each painting in this series is an attempt to cultivate hope, beauty, and reconciliation amidst the leveling of the land by war or the acknowledgment of the reality of life under the influence of the black evil.
A garden is always something longer than human life. A garden is perhaps the most universal metaphor for human presence on Earth.
Enthralled by the idea of flower cultivation, the artist shifts focus away from darkness, honing in on the radiance of life, which serves as a symbol of willpower and unbreakable spirit. These paintings draw inspiration from the resilience and determination evident in each flower, each tree, surviving and thriving in the most adverse conditions.
In each artwork, there is a quest for reconciliation and resolve, despite the challenges faced by people in their struggle against darkness. "Gardens of Resilience" not only reflect the beauty of nature but become embodiments of the inner strength and determination to achieve peace and harmony.
This series is distinguished not only by its refined visual artistry but also by its profound philosophical conclusions concerning human existence amidst war and suffering. Its mission is to inspire, reflect the inner strength that allows us to grow and flourish despite any obstacles.

- Nude in French Interior - original extra large oil painting by Paula CraioveanuBy Paula CraioveanuLocated in Forest Hills, NY"Nude in French interior", in a room lighted from one side. Part of my Nude in interior series. Inspired in contrast and colors by French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Nude placed in a French palace, a sober classical interior in contrast with the modern relaxed attitude of the main character. Size is 150x150cm / 59x59in, oil on canvas. Painting was part of my solo show "Nude in Interior", March 2022. Can be shipped rolled in a tube for faster and less expensive shipping. Please inquire. "I started by painting interiors, being interested in space and perspective through my studies. These scenes evolved, when I added the human figure. I focused more on the human figure and its relation to the background. The human figure is more present than ever in my paintings now. As a woman artist I’ve been preoccupied with the female form and its imagery. One of my goals was to capture the solitary moments and the nude’s relation to the surrounding space. My interest turned from depicting the space to rendering the atmosphere and the scene as a whole, the feeling a woman adds to the environment: warmth, desire, joy, a feeling of power and control, or the opposite – sadness, despair. Here is a collection of figurative paintings, exploring the nudes in interior spaces, seeing the nudes from my perspective, as a woman artist, considering the physical and spiritual realities of a woman’s body, in a new level of intimacy. My paintings are the opposite of objectifying a woman’s or a man’s anatomy. Painted works, featuring female nudes and a also men nudes...Category
