About the Item
This is a one of a kind surrealist acrylic painting in a found frame by San Diego artist, Christopher Polentz. Its dimensions are 15.5x12x3. A signed Certificate of Authenticity from the artist follows its delivery.
Lobster Boy Lennie: Caught off the coast years ago in a trawler’s fishing net, we found Lennie working as a nutshell cracker in a waterfront dive. Recognizing his unappreciated qualities, it took little convincing for him to join “The Company” and embark on his new career. Today, even as one of our biggest stars and most popular attraction, Lennie still enjoys cracking open nuts and loosening jar lids for his friends.
Note from the artist: “I would like my images to nurture compassion for the differences within us all. Our need for acceptability and fitting in. But most of all the need to be valued and loved. My images of children are faultless individuals; possessing obvious imperfections and undesirable qualities, social outcasts, different, through no fault of their own, but nonetheless unwanted and made to feel unnecessary."
