The Dutch artist Jantina Peperkamp likes to paint portraits of young boys and girls. If you ask her for her inspiration, she will gladly and pleasantly tell you about it.
She is inspired by people, children from her immediate environment. Yet they are not "one on one portraits", the children or adults who are painted by her are often the bearer of an attribute. Peperkamp combines particularly fresh and bright colors and a very fine touch. All this together creates a kind of intimacy between the viewer and the portrait. Very special.
In this portrait she combines the in innocence of a young girl with beautiful eyes with the softness of her skin. Together with the leaves of a plant it gets the magic of a fairy tale.

In my paintings, the end result is largely determined by the energy that arises between artist and model, with the artist acting as observer and registrar. The choice for a model is determined by the degree to which I recognize myself in this person.
The paintings are made on a wooden panel.
