A new series (2023) from SOTOS_Z Zachariades. Portraits of live models posing in the studio.
Standing or sitting, with elaborate formal dresses or in everyday clothes, SOTOS_Z is in research for the underground culture, the unusual, the unique. In a society of mass culture, we can still filter the world through our own eyes and claim what it is naturally given by birth- our individuality. Although mass production dictates mass consumption, you can find traces of individuality and personal touch even in the most common things. Our true nature finds a way to live on, transform and evolve through time.

Sotos Zachariadis
Sotos Zachariadis was born in Thessaloniki in 1960. He apprenticed in the studios of local painters. He held his first solo exhibition in Thessaloniki in 1984 and in Athens in 1985. In the 80's he became involved with performance art, which culminated in "Echodrasis", staged at the Royal Theater of Thessaloniki in 1989.Between 1992-1997 he organized an international art festival, "Art Village", in conjunction with Thessaloniki's foreign cultural institutes. In 1983 he started teaching painting at Eptapyrgion Correctional Institute and the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki.
Among other distinctions and awards in painting contests, he received a Fulbright Artist Award in 1993-94 to work and study at the Museum of Contemporary art in Chicago. Since then his work has been exhibited in Greece, Europe, and the United States.
