Primavera II- 21st Century Contemporary Dutch Still-life of Flowers

2021

About the Item

Primavera II 49 x 50 cm Framed in a black wooden frame: 52 x 62 cm Oil paint on wood panel Dutch artist, painter, Adriana van Zoest, lives and works in Warmenhuizen, in the North of The Netherlands. We exclusively represent her paintings in our gallery. Other places where you can find her work is in several collections an musea. The paintings of Adriana van Zoest has already been shown in a number of remarkable exhibitions. Perhaps the most famous of these is 'Post Mortum' in the Drents Museum in Assen in 2016-2017. In 2022 there will be an exhibition in 'The West Fries Museum' in Friesland, The Netherlands. Various subjects The paintings of Adriana van Zoest are not easy to place under one name. We roughly divide the subjects she chooses to paint. Stilllifes Virtuoso still lifes, with ultimate perfection as the main goal. In these works she tries to achieve the ultimate illusion technically, based on traditional painting techniques. Her subjects vary from tubers to flowers and from a Roman vase to a mirror ball. Beautiful materials that are never translated 'one on one' into paint by the artist. Adriana van Zoest explains how the objects are used as a source of inspiration. The artist then 'manipulates' to his heart's content. With, for example, light and color, an own reality is created by van Zoest. Animal still lifes The still lifes of deceased animals make for particularly appealing paintings. The animals seem to have been portrayed at the moment when death has just set in. Their beauty is preserved in this way for eternity. There seems to be a state of sleep, the posture and composition in which the animals are depicted betray that death has occurred. The surprising and contemporary paintings are the result of a process of studies in oil paint, which are then displayed in various layers on the panel in the final form. The technical perfection ensures that the reality, despite the added individuality of the artist, remains astonishing, no matter how long you keep looking. Animal portraits The fact that the artist is an animal lover can also be seen in the still lifes of the deceased animals. This is certainly reflected in the portraits that Adriana van Zoest has made of the living animals. 'The cat' is clearly the favorite here. Nevertheless, in addition to various types of cats, various fish can be seen. A greater difference in skin than between these two animal species is perhaps not conceivable. Here too, the artist shows her wish to exceed perfection and it is almost unimaginable to see how picturesque and also "real and colourful" the animals are depicted. We ship our paintings worldwide (for free) in a custom made wooden crate as shown on the last picture. Feel free to contact us for additional information or pictures.
