About the Item
Bouquet of Flowers
Oil on masonite, signed.
Edith Faucon was born on May 24 in 1919 in Carentan France. She owes her artistic training first to Jules Adler, and then to Emile Dorrée, her Master, with whom she worked in the workshop of the Abbaye du Vœu in Cherbourg from 1938.
When Emile Dorrée died in 1959, she continued in the Licorne studio in Cherbourg until 1986 and it was from this date that she began teaching at the École des Beaux Arts.
Member of the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes Français where she exhibits every year, she will be awarded numerous prizes and awards, including:
Théodore Ralli Prize in 1942,
Honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes in 1943,
Valérie Havard Prize in 1943,
Silver medal in 1946,
Gold medal, Hors Concours at the 1947 Salon,
Jehan Peccard Prize in 1948,

Renowned artist, she has worked a lot and sold her production in Parisian galleries, in France, in London, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo ...
Some of her works can be seen in the museums of Cherbourg, Equeurdreville and Luxeuil.
A sensitive landscaper, she has always excelled in still lifes and paintings of flowers but also in the rendering of porcelain, old earthenware and patina.
