About the Item

Francisco Felipe Carrasco y Díaz (Spanish, b. 1910-?) Granada, 20th Century Oil on canvas 28 3/4 x 23 3/4 in. Framed: 39 3/4 x 34 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. Signed lower right: F. Carrasco y Díaz, Granada Francisco Felipe Carrasco y Díaz was a Spanish painter known for still life paintings. In this piece, he skillfully captures a bouquet of Magnolia flowers in a state of transition - some flowers are in full bloom, while others are wilting. Anticipatory buds are also included, on the brink of emergence. They are placed in a green vase that compliments the accompanying leaves - a fine subject for representation in a still life.
