Mel Fowler (1921-1987) was a listed Italian-American painter known for his cubist inspired abstracts, still lives and scenics. His paintings were exhibited and sold at the Far Gallery in New York City for many years.
The piece has a very interesting surface. The artist has painted layers of paint, one on top of the other which causes the top surface to crack giving the piece a unique appearance.
The painting is framed in a vintage frame and the painting is in perfect untouched condition.
