This beautiful painting shows a varied still life with various specimens of game, including hares and birds, juxtaposed with vines, pomegranates and numerous mushrooms. On the latter rests, almost as a lookout, a partridge observing the scene with an alert attitude. The elegant composition created reveals an autumnal flavour of hunting and the first fruits of the undergrowth.

- 17th Century By Giovanni Battista Spinelli Jacob's dream Oil on CanvasLocated in Milano, LombardiaThe painting by Giovanni Battista Spinelli (1613 - 1647), an Italian painter, depicts Jacob’s dream. Giovanni Battista Spinelli was active during the mid-17th century mainly in Naples. His works can be found in private collections, and some are at the Uffizi and at the National Gallery, London. This painting can be dated around 1655. Spinelli’s canvases might be difficult to date and they are of uneven quality. The painting depicts Jacob in a deep sleep while he is surrounded by dark and threatening clouds, but a ladder of light, where angels are ascending and descending, appears in his dream.
