An exceptional oil painting still life by American artist Tom Nicholas (b. 1934). Nicholas was born in Middletown, Connecticut, studied with Ernest Lehrmann, became a full member of the National Academy of Design, and became known for his still life, seascapes, and figure painting.
Oil on canvas, signed lower right, titled on verso inscribed label “Satsumi and Dried Flowers,” and housed in a decorative giltwood frame with linen matte inset. Dimensions: 14 in h x 10 in w, actual; 22 in h x 18 in w, framed.
