An expressive and energetic mid-century still life composition, executed in oil onto board.
The painting presents a black table adorned with an eclectic arrangement of objects, whose silhouettes have been uniquely highlighted in blue.
Rendered in a semi-abstract manner and omitting all realistic details, there is an intricate play of shapes, brushstrokes, and colour.
The artist has thoughtfully chosen a restrained palette, weaving together shades of blue, black, and brown.
The composition exudes an expressive and dynamic quality, as loose and squiggle-like brushstrokes have been executed, capturing a fleeting moment of creativity and spontaneity.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting has a light surface mark to its left side as shown. The frame has some scuffs.
