This abstract color photograph the devastation of the historic tsunami that hit Thailand and Indonesia in 2005 is from the series "Things Fall Apart" by Sasha Bezzubov. it is (30" x 40") Edition 9 + 3 artist prints, signed by the artist. In "Things Fall Apart" (2001-2008), Bezzubov visited different parts of the world to make landscape photographs in the aftermath of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. Wildfire was published by Nazraeli Press in 2009 with an introduction by the writer and environmental activist Bill McKibben.

Sasha Bezzubov
Sasha Bezzubov’s photographic approach has developed through diverse series that address the contemporary condition and explore the nature of the document. Sasha Bezzubov uses a large format camera to photograph the people and the land in diverse series including, The Gringo Project, Expats & Natives, Things Fall Apart, The Searchers, Albedo Zone, Facts on the Ground and Sad Tropics. Bezzubov is a two-time recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship Award. His work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions including Tucson Museum of Art; Museum Belvedere, The Netherlands; Herter Art Gallery, University of Massachusetts; Wavehill, New York; New Orleans Museum of Art; and Museum of Fine Arts, Tallahassee. Bezzubov’s first monograph Wildfire, was published in 2009 by Nazraeli Press. His work is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of the City of New York and the Joy of Giving Something Foundation, among others. Bezzubov’s work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, The Telegraph Magazine, Esquire, Newsweek, Art & Auction, and Details; and has received critical acclaim in The New Yorker, Freeze, The Village Voice, The Brooklyn Rail and Print. In 2012, The Sylvia Bongo Foundation invited Sasha Bezzubov to Gabon, Central Africa. "Republic of Dust" is a series of photographs that resulted from this experience and was exhibited at Front Room Gallery (NY). Sasha Bezzubov received a MFA in Photography from Yale University in 1997. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

- BuranoBy Jean TurcoLocated in Paris, FRBorn in 1948 in the French Alps, Jean Turco spent his adolescence in Chamonix Mont Blanc. He awarded a diploma in photography and made numerous images of high mountain. At the age of 20, he left "the valley" for Paris where he is going to exercise as a game an activity which fascinates him and will allow him to visit a lot of distant countries by taking in his luggage Leica IIIf and Hasselblad which share his life. He has so produced in Europe, in the United States or in Emirates and Sultanates of the Gulf, uncountable landscapes and portraits; his taste for these last ones asserting itself during journeys in India and in Pakistan. In 2000, he rethought his implication in the photography and decided to dedicate himself to it full-time. He abandoned then quite other activity, tidied up his inseparable IIIf and Hasselblad in a cupboard, took back his Sinar P 20x25 and Nikon-digital then burned symbolically and without mood, his negatives and archival to start all over again. Mainly intended for the exhibitions, he made more of seventy these last years, his photos concern since numerous subjects even if the portrait, the nude and the still life remain privileged. Except his personal works, except the writing of works and except the articles on the photography and workshop / studios which he runs in numerous European countries, Jean Turco works mainly on commission for private individuals or advertising agencies. He uses according to the use of the produced images everything kind of existing shot equipments but the Sinar P2, the chamber of size 8x10 inches (20x25 cm) big film photography format which he processes personally in his laboratory, became his favourite equipment.
