- Teeing - black and white photographyBy Allan I. TegerLocated in New York, NY"I remember the moment that the idea for Bodyscapes® came to me. I was thinking that the shape and structure of the universe repeated itself at every level and suddenly I had the image in my mind of a skier going down a breast. This was it - the universe repeating its shapes - a body looking like a mountain. It was also an example of two realities coexisting. The picture could be seen as a landscape and it could also be seen as a body. Although they were different, both perceptions were right at the same time. I knew instantly that I had an entire series of images waiting to be captured on film" black and white photography miniature photography sport photography...Category

- Twilight #19, Gathering - Silver Birch Tree - Black and White Landscape PrintLocated in London, GBA stand of spinous silver birch gather, shining white against the inky night... Over a three-year period, Goodall has visited areas of British forest and moorland to make images that he refers to as being 'more akin to fairytale than documentary'. There is indeed an unreal quality to the images, and this is perhaps a result of using artificial lighting; it reminds one of those spooky, unnaturally lit forests we see in the movies. In the absence of any natural illumination (save for a few that include the moon), scenes are lit as if they are in a studio setting. This results in imagery that feels eerily unfamiliar; transporting the viewer from the recognisable landscape into a kind of liminal netherworld - it's the landscape, but not as we are used to seeing it. Goodall responds to this observation by speaking about the possibility of the darkness being seen as a metaphor for the unconscious mind; the 'light' of consciousness illuminates the known forms of tree and rock, but beyond these certainties lies the unknown. When your eyes have little information, your imagination takes over and fills in the gaps." - Jasper Goodall...Category

- A black and white print of Talismanic Forest Figures in day and night lightLocated in London, GBThe project uses the remains of recently felled trees to construct talismanic 'forest figures'. They are left to slowly fall apart where they stand with the photographic record being the only enduring impression. The forest is in constant flux, with the trees coming and going either of their own accord or through forest management. Nature is a dynamic force that one becomes more aware of as time passes and areas begin to look very diffrent over several years... 'Where once we stood on Scragged Oak Hill' is an ongoing project using the remnants of felled trees to build ‘forest figures’ as an act of remembrance to the trees that have gone on to further use. These figures are in influenced by folklore, old traditions and beliefs that encompass animistic thinking and can be thought of as the spirit-body of the trees that have now gone. They act as a symbolic resurrection and recognition of the change that has occurred. The title refers to the location of the first figure — Scragged Oak Hill — where there used to be a grove of mature hemlock trees. Forest figure #1 is made from their branches. #forest #sculptural...Category
