Harry Benson
Beatles Composing Times Three, Paris

1964

About the Item

Edition of 35 From their time as the Quarrymen through to their final days as a group, the Beatles' creative heart was always in John and Paul who functioned as the group's primary songwirters and composers. Harry Benson was fortunate enough to be assigned to accompany the Beatles on their first trip to Paris where they stayed at the Hotel George V. Paul and John went over to room's piano and began composing what would become "I Feel Fine". George and Ringo eventually came over and joined in as Harry Benson looked on and photographed the creation of the now-legendary song. Benson gives the viewer a rare glimpse of the Beatles in their more innocent, early days, before their biggest breaks, composing songs now woven into fabric of modern music. The intensity of the Beatles' creativity is as obvious as the joy that creating these songs brought them.
