Flight I is a contemporary print by Tom Sullam. The light, bright colours make for a piece celebrating the freedom of flying. The varying plane models fly in different directions, creating wonderful patterns.

A protegé of the internationally renowned Hasselblad Master Charlie Waite, Tom began his professional career as a photographer in 2005, and quickly developed his own signature landscape style. He won the prestigious Fuji Photographer of the year award in 2006, along with the One Vision Prize in 2007. The work shown here at Wytchwood was largely inspired by Tom’s move to Tanzania in 2013. The enormity and sheer breadth of photographic opportunities, combined with the colours, textures, sounds and smells of this East African country proved too much to capture in a single image. Instead, Tom used a combination of multiple exposure and layering techniques to capture his experiences on one single print.
