Allyson Monson
Reality no. 2, Fine Art Photography Mounted in Plexiglass, Signed

About the Item

Reality No. 2 by Allyson Monson is a fine art photograph, mounted in plexiglass. Per Allyson "to the naked eye walking down this street you would have never have seen the 'Thanks but we already know.' It wasn't until I was editing that I uncovered it. The words Hello Beautiful are so inspiring but the uncovered words below it make it so much more aware of one's self worth. Reality no. 2 32" x 48" Fine Art Photography Mounted in Plexiglass “ It is apparent that light and movement along with texture is what I see behind the lens. my ability to see ordinary objects differently is what makes my work personal. The Blur and Spat series project my love for color and often transforms life into a painting.” - Allyson Monson Allyson always had a love for texture and color. Her specialized studies were textiles, merchandising and design at the University of Rhode Island and interior design at The Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. While studying in Italy she worked on a project designing a print of a coffee percolator using the texture from Pirelli tires. At that moment she began viewing everyday life from a different perspective. Growing up in the suburbs of New York Allyson had the city at her fingertips. The fast action and energy of metropolitan cities remain her favorite subject. Expressing herself through her photography has provided Allyson the opportunity to combine her passions for the arts, design and travel.

  • Beso, 2018, Fine Art Photography, Mounted in Plexiglass
    By Allyson Monson
    Located in Armonk, NY
Beso is a fine art photograph, mounted in plexiglass. It is part of Allyson Monson's URBAN NATURE series which focuses on taking everyday life and making it accessible. These images are meant feel good and not be taken so seriously. One of the essential elements of her URBAN NATURE series is photographing street art. She finds layers in between the cracks, the paint and the stickers, that awakens her eye. What excites Allyson the most is when she revisits a site (which she does often) and discovers what she originally shot has changed. Often, through the passage of time, the very same "shot" has been either painted over, added to or simply faded and it can be seen in a different “light”. Beso, 2018 40" x 40" Fine Art Photography...

  • Sullivan's Island 77083, Fine Art Abstract Landscape Photography, Plexiglass
    By John Duckworth
    Located in Armonk, NY
Best described as paintings from a camera, John Duckworth’s Sullivan's Island 77083 is part of the color-filled yet minimal Landscape Abstracts Series. The images evoke the sea, marsh, and sky in rich bands of saturated color. ''Sullivan's Island 77083 40" x 60" Abstract Landscape Fine Art Photography Framed in Plexiglass Signed The Landscape Abstract series is a combination of three of John’s loves: creative process, nature, and bicycles. Almost all of these images were created during regular bike rides throughout the region. Intended to reveal a memory more than an exact record, the series is part of John’s ongoing meditation with nature. Certain images appear to subtly move when given ample time to sit quietly before them. This body of work captures the essence and natural beauty of the region, where vibrant colors flow through the landscape as subtly as the southern seasons flow into each other. The humid summers bring brilliant green marshlands and graceful, fast-moving thunderstorms of purple and gray, while colder months deliver warmer, gentler tones and calm, serene sunsets. At every glance these photographs transport you through their colors - each image telling a unique story of the horizon through both aesthetic and process. John Duckworth’s works transcend the line between realism and abstraction. His photographs are infused with an intimate knowledge of nature, a passion for pure color, and a rhythm drawn from life itself. His trademark style involves abstracting the photographic image to lend the work a much lauded painterly appearance. By providing the viewer a sense of place, yet obscuring the details, he allows each individual to step into the image and bring forth their own visual history. The ensuing narrative is enriched through the power of memory, infusing a personal creative process with universal appeal. Duckworth's art imparts a calming, meditative and contemplative quality intended to elicit a deeper consideration of ourselves and our environment. He is most well known for his quietly abstract landscape photography of the Southeast coast, wherein the images read as luminous, rhythmic color field paintings. More recently his work has become immersive multimedia experiences involving video, music, performance, painting, and photography. More recently, his long-standing meditation practice inspired a new body of work culminating in an exhibition entitled "AWAKE" - an immersive multimedia experience guiding each visitor through eight sequential rooms and over 90 original works of art, while wearing wireless headsets playing ambient audio composed for each room. This work is multi-layered and diverse, including photography, painting, screen-printing, airbrush, spray paint, audio, video, design and performance. “I wanted the exhibition to be alive - as I sat in meditation 2-5 hours a day for two months I was changing, transforming myself as part of the process.” John Duckworth lives and works in Johns...
