Playground 2009-2010 by Ivan Mikhailov is a 20 x 20 inch archival pigment print, available in an edition of 7. This photograph is signed, titled, dated and numbered on print on print verso. Playground 2009-2010 features a vibrant scene, with a bright red and yellow metal rocket ship playground against a bright blue and green environment. The dark building with glowing windows in the background sets the scene at night. A place normally used by children is abandoned, contrasting the playful colors with eerie isolation. Ivan Mikhailov was born on January 15th, 1981 in Novocheboksarsk, Russia. In 2003 he graduated from the Chuvash Pedagogical State University with a degree in fine arts and drawing. Playground is a series of photographs taken between 2009 and 2010 of vacant rocket ship style playgrounds built in Russia during the Space Race. Mikhailov has been exhibited widely since 2009 and included in such exhibitions as "Fashion and Style in Photography", 2009(Moscow), Photobiennale, 2010 (Moscow), "Rencontres d'Arles", 2010 (Abbaye de Montmajour, France), “Time within us”, 2010 (Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Turkey), “Untold hopes” 2010 (Chateau d'Eau Gallery, Toulouse, France), “Noorderlicht”, 2011 (Groningen, Netherlands), “Backlight”, 2011 (Tampere, Finland), “LianzhouFOTO”, 2011 (Lianzhou, China), “Russian cosmos”, 2011 (Castello di Rivoli, Turin, Italy), "10 Curators / 10 Artists" ,2012 (Bruce Silverstein Gallery, New York, USA), "Playground" ,2012 (Glaz Gallery, Moscow, Russia) . Mikhailov's photos are in collections of the Moscow House of Photography, Nizhny Novgorod Museum of Photography History, the National Museum of Chuvashia and private Collection in France, Italy, America, Canada, Germany. Ivan Mikhailov currently lives and works in Moscow.

Medow studied ceramics at the famed Chouinard Institute and received a BA in Art from UCLA, concentrating on life drawing with charcoal and pastels. Continuing her art education, she studied printmaking at Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With a wealth of materials and techniques, Medow layers her photographs and weaves them together to create visual narratives. There have been numerous articles written about her work. Avian Alchemy by Becca Cudmore was published by Audubon News/Culture on June 5, 2015, Proof. National Geographic - An Altered Reality by Becky Harlan along with National Geographics Sunday Stills, Sunday, July 12, 2015 and an article in Inspire Adobe Photoshop For The Birds by Alyssa Coppelman in August.
