Marie Craig’s “Warming 1” is a 10 x 13 inch color photograph, a part of the artist’s “ Natural Consequences” series. Rich blues dominate this photo, which is surrounded by a white matt and framed in a white wood frame; framed dimensions are 18 x 22 x 0.75 inches. An original large-scale cyanotype photograph on transparent silk is re-photographed in the snowy New England landscape, allowing the translucence of the fabric to obscure and reveal components of the environment behind the image.

Marie Craig
Marie Craig is an award-winning Boston-based contemporary fine art photographer. Graduating from Clark University, Massachusetts, with a Masters in Biology, Craig began as a medical photographer and illustrator specializing in cell biology for UMass Medical School and Brandeis University. Emerging from the medical sphere, she shifted her role to become a teacher, curator and photographer, all in the fine art community. Craig has shown her work in solo and group exhibitions at Danforth Art, Framingham, COSO, Boston and BigCi Open Day, Australia. She is the co-founder and director of Fountain Street Gallery in Boston. She works from her studio in Natick, Massachusetts.
