About the Item
Head clown
In this image the head circus clown emerges as a whimsical and colorful character against the backdrop of a bustling circus scene. His appearance is a riot of playful eccentricity, perfectly embodying the spirit of the circus.
At the forefront of the photograph, the head circus clown stands with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. His ensemble is a delightful cacophony of mismatched elements. Perched jauntily atop his head is a tiny pillbox hat, comically disproportionate to his oversized clownish persona. Beneath the hat, his face is partially concealed by a dog mask, adding an air of enigmatic allure.
The clown's coat, striped in a riot of vibrant colors, appears to be several sizes too small for him, the ill-fitting garment adding to his comical charm. Beneath the undersized coat, he sports loose-fitting pants that billow around his legs as he strikes a playful pose. His footwear consists of ordinary leather shoes, a humorous contrast to the rest of his eccentric attire.
In front of the circus tent, a multitude of balloons adds a burst of color to the scene. These balloons, tethered to the ground, sway gently in the breeze, each one a vibrant orb of joy. Their presence underscores the festive atmosphere of the circus, promising a world of wonder and enchantment inside the tent.
Above the clown's head, triangular flags are strung in a whimsical canopy, casting playful shadows across the scene. The flags, adorned with various patterns and colors, evoke a sense of celebration and anticipation, as if heralding the start of a captivating show.
The daguerreotype captures a timeless moment of joy and merriment, where the head circus clown stands as the embodiment of whimsy. Amidst the balloons and fluttering flags, he is the heart and soul of the circus, promising laughter and enchantment to all who enter the colorful world beneath the big top.

- Bud of the BudBy Reka NyariLocated in New York, NY“Ink Stories”, which was introduced at Nyari’s very first solo gallery exhibit, consists of large-scale nude photographs that explore the concept of self-identity and female empowerment. The series joins six women together, each who have faced adversity, to demonstrate the creation of a strengthened self-image through tattoos. By highlighting the intricate woven threads of ink on each woman’s skin, Nyari proposes the idea that self-empowerment and reconciliation with one’s traumas can be linked to the act of greeting one’s “own skin” or inventing their own story. Nyari has now elevated these intimate photographs in her new Punctured Ink series through the process of puncturing botanical-like references into the surface of each image (thus making each one of a kind). Her inspiration to physically puncture the previously pristine photographic prints stemmed from a childhood memory that occurred while she was living in Finland: “I remembered my parents had this big pad of paper next to the home phone...Category
