Central Park Skyline Billionaires' Row Manhattan

2020

About the Item

Supertall luxury skyscrapers in New York City run along the southern end of Central Park. Billionaires' Row has redefined the image of New York City. Now New York has a new and breathtaking skyline but you view it from the Sheep Meadow instead of Brooklyn Heights or Jersey City. Mitchell Funk has captured the dramatic nature of these seemingly impossible structures in an equally dramatic way. By shifting the axis to a diagonal and contrasting the hard-edge blue buildings with the soft warm colors of autumn, we are presented with a photographic image that compliments the grandeur of it's subject matter. The work is signed dated and numbered 2/15 lower right recto with other sizes available, and unframed on Hahnemuhle paper Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum.
